Simon Tasker, Director of the Company, is a Chartered Surveyor with many years’ experience in licensed property. In the late 1970’s he was Deputy Estates Manager for the late lamented Vaux Breweries. He has been self employed since 1980 and has specialised totally in licensed property since 1985 when he formed what was probably the best known licensed property firm in the region Ross, Tasker & Co. with David Ross, who has since retired. The business became Tasker & Co. in 1995.

An old Chorister of Durham Cathedral, Simon is still a keen musician and singer and spends much of his limited spare time running with his wife a choir called ‘Carillon - the choir for special occasions’ which performs at weddings and other celebrations, etc. as well as regularly raising money for charity.

David Gibson, Company Secretary and Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents, has considerable experience in property and insurance. For many years he worked in the finance and life assurance industry before moving towards licensed property in the early 1980’s. He teamed up with Simon Tasker and David Ross within Ross, Tasker & Co. and then, with Simon, formed Tasker & Co. in 1995. His broad experience of many aspects of the licensed trade has assisted many clients, large and small over a considerable period of time.

A keen family man, David is also a musician. For many years he has sung and played bass guitar in bands throughout the North East. He now plays in a three piece group ‘Technique’ which plays specifically for functions throughout the region.

John Young, Sales Manager, joined Ross Tasker & Co. from Joshua Tetley & Son. where he had been Trade Development Manager for a large swathe of the North East. Previously he had performed this function for Messrs Samuel Webster & Wilson's and before that for Drybrough & Co. His experience of the drinks industry transferred readily into the Chartered Surveying practice where he has handled sales negotiations for many years as well as becoming an adept and skillful inventory valuer.
